We are collaborating to advance sanitation in the city of Rio de Janeiro!
The consortium between gelengenharia and ENGEFORM has completed the renovation, expansion, and modernization of the Barra da Tijuca Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) in Rio de Janeiro, an essential project of Iguasaneamento to expand the coverage and efficiency of the region’s sewage system.
The intervention was carried out on a turnkey basis and included the complete modernization of the existing plant, construction of new operational units, expansion of the Operational Control Center (OCC), and installation of state-of-the-art equipment, promoting a 50% increase in the unit’s treatment capacity.
Therefore, this project was designed to guarantee reliability, efficiency, and higher quality of the treated effluent, directly contributing to public health, the protection of water bodies, and the enhancement of the territory.
With this delivery, more than 1 million people will benefit, making a difference for the state of Rio and for everyone who participated in this journey.
